PCT preparations

So, after sailing from West End, Bahamas to Florida, we drove North to Simsbury, Connecticut, the place we currently call home.😉

We were not expecting to see so much snow and cold…

Our cat, wait, I shouldn't say “our cat” but “His Majesty The Cat living in our home” instead, Nabu, enjoyed again our bed.

His human like positions while sleeping keep mesmerizing us.

Lola enjoyed and cared for our home all the time we were away. She is just one semester and a half from graduating from UConn (the University of Connecticut). She's also working as a teacher aide part time.

The great lucky event was Joey's return back home from the Marines. He's officially out! He's also officially accepted at UConn engineering, starting in August.

It was a great coincidence he got released just a few days ahead while we were back home between our wandering adventures!

It was a good 10 days of seeing again our Connecticut friends, climbing at the gym together, enjoying a few additional painting lessons at Natasha's as well as treating ourselves to a great russian style sauna & dine & wine session with Natasha, V, Dan and Jen!

Before our departure for up to 6 months of wilderness on foot, Muriel could not miss a last flight in the little Cessna 172 and wave goodbye to the gigantic Pratt & Whitney Campus from the air.

Meanwhile, yes, we prepared a bit more our packs and on April 10th we flew to Palm Springs for the start of our next adventure: The Pacific Crest Trail.

Dang!! It was snowing 🌨️️ when we took off from Connecticut and 100F ☀️ when we landed in Palm Springs!!!

Vagabond Inn, what a perfect name for our 2-night stay hotel in Palm Springs while we finalize our food supplies for our first leg of the PCT! 😂😂.

Visiting the botanical garden nearby reminded us of Arizona where we lived for 8 years!

Time to go hike!
